Q: Tell me about your ups and downs in developing and manufacturing sensor chips over the years.
Wang Guoqiu: I founded a digital technology company in 2000. In 2003, the company developed my country's first digital image and video compression encoding and decoding chip with completely original independent intellectual property rights, which contributed to solving the high patent fees of DVD decoding chips at that time.
In 2006, I aimed at metal-based pressure-sensitive chips in industrial applications and invested 2 million yuan to establish Hunan Qitai Sensing Technology Co., Ltd.
The difficulties encountered in the research and development process are really numerous. For example, most chips are based on silicon to make circuits, but the pressure-sensitive chips we developed are based on metal substrates to make circuits. Mature silicon technology cannot be applied to this chip. From materials, equipment, design, manufacturing process, testing, packaging, all things in this industry chain must be explored from scratch by the company. Since 2006, we have been making this type of button pressure-sensitive chip. For 15 years, the waste materials are counted as baskets. I don't remember exactly how many baskets there are.
In the hardest time, I thought about giving up a hundred times, but I picked it up again two days later. Because it is really hard to give up, this life seems to have been destined to have an inexplicable relationship with this little chip.
Q: The company’s core technology has already been industrialized, how to better develop the market in the next step?
Wang Guoqiu: The hydraulic sensor assembly line independently developed by the company has now begun mass production, which is expected to completely solve the hydraulic sensor supporting needs of Changsha and the national construction machinery industry. Because we have calculated that the annual demand for hydraulic sensors in Hunan construction machinery is 600,000, and the company's assembly line equipment will have an annual production capacity of 2 million after it reaches full capacity, which can fully realize local matching.
Indeed, although on the one hand we often call for our own core technology, on the other hand, after the core technology of independent innovation comes out, domestic users still don't recognize these core technologies. How to make the market accept these core technologies of independent innovation more quickly is something my team and I have been constantly exploring.
At the same time, I would also like to thank the government departments at all levels for their active actions. The industry and information departments and related industry chain offices have also taken the initiative to provide door-to-door services to carry out investigations on talent needs, supporting facilities for upstream and downstream enterprises, and development difficulties, and guide upstream and downstream enterprises to connect. Guide OEM parts factories to develop synchronously with each other, and do a lot of meticulous work to help enterprises become bigger and stronger.
